Annie Cardinaux employs traditional techniques of sewing and quilting to create intricate patchwork landscapes. Her most recent body of work, a series of quilted waterscapes, fields, rolling hills, and tree studies are inspired by her direct observation of the natural world. In her patchwork landscapes, Annie combines cotton solids and delicately-patterened quilting fabrics to mimic the subtle contours and shades of color found in nature. Her work explores themes of interconnectedness, stillness, movement, and the effect of space on the human experience. Custom work available.
