Chris is the daughter of an architect and chinese brush painter. Her older brother is multi-talented in drawing and painting. She first started dabbling in painting using oils in 2005. In 2007, she attended Berkeley City College painting classes. She studied under Judi Pettite. While taking Introduction to Painting and Intermediate Painting, Chris learned to use acrylics. Chris enjoys painting all types of subject matter, but her favorite is painting organic objects and nature, from trees to flowers and landscapes to sunsets. One way of recycling that Chris revels in is upcycling. She takes old pieces of furniture that are about to be thrown out and uses them as canvases. She finds great satisfaction in turning a piece of trash into a painted treasure.
