.Louise began working with clay in 2004 and has been an active member of the learning community at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in the Continuing Education program ever since. Her goal is to create functional, practical and well-crafted high-fired ceramic wares for everyday use. Louise believes that having handmade objects as part of our daily lives enriches the ordinary activities of preparing, serving and eating food, either alone or in good company. Her work is meant for regular daily service and carefully made to provide pleasure for years to come. Pieces are made with stoneware or porcelain clays and finished with care and attention to detail. Work is fired to temperatures exceeding 2300 degrees Farenheit for durability and density. Glazes are formulated to be resistant to the acids in foods and to the effects of repeated use/wash cycles.
