Artist Statement

I have always been interested in how our unconscious mingles with / struggles against our conscious actions and thoughts. Much of my work is inspired by dreams. Sometimes this blend of conscious/unconscious appears as architecture with geometric forms playing against natural forms or material affected my chance / accident. In other works it can be seen as nature vs. culture. Animals have played an important role in my dreams and I feel a strong connections to them as beings that illustrate my strengths / fears / power. This work has led into work concerning our treatment of animals and our neglect of their / our environment.

I am represented by the Barbara Krakow Gallery in Boston. My work can be purchased through the gallery. More work appears on my website www.sallybmoore.com and on the gallery website www.barbarakrakowgallery.com
